This role will become available, and will be need to be filled, in May 2012 when the present incumbent retires.
The job entails:
1. Representing WOA twice a year at British Orienteering Fixtures meetings
(these are held in Birmingham. E-mail correspondence would be acceptable, e.g. the NI representative rarely attends).
2. Arguing the case for getting major WOA events (level B and A) into the National Fixtures calendar.
3. Ensuring that the clubs fulfil responsibilities re 1) Welsh Championships, 2) Home International programmes.
4. Upgrading suitable events in Wales from Level D to C.
5.When required, holding an annual meeting of the Club Fixtures secretaries.
There is scope for a proactive interest in all matters relating to WOA fixtures.
Brian Hughes can provide training, which ideally should take place before handover in April 2011.
